Catalog Description:
Field-oriented study of ecology of the Salish Sea. Students live and study at the Friday Harbor Laboratories, a seaside setting for immersive learning. Students observe relationships between coastal organisms and their environment, and explore processes by which these relationships change over time and location. Lecture, field, and laboratory activities focus on habitats and species of ecological, economic, and/or cultural importance. Prerequisite: FISH 250/OCEAN 250/BIOL 250 or BIOL 356.
