CANCER: WHAT WE GOT WRONG, WHAT WE GOT RIGHT, AND WHAT COMES NEXT CANCER REMAINS ONE OF THE MOST DEVASTATING DISEASES AND A LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH WORLDWIDE. DESPITE CENTURIES OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AN REMARKABLE BREAKTHROUGHS, NO SINGLE CURE EXISTS. HOW MUCH DO WE UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS DISEASE, AND HOW CLOSE ARE WE TO DEVELOPING A CURE, OR IS SUCH A CURE EVEN FEASIBLE? OVER THE PAST CENTURY, OU APPROACH TO CANCER TREATMENT HAS EVOLVED DRAMATICALLY TOWARD PRECISION-TARGETED APPROACHES. THES ADVANCES REFLECT BOTH THE PROGRESS WE HAVE MADE AND THE LESSONS LEARNED, SETTING THE STAGE FOR THE NEXT FRONTIER IN CANCER THERAPEUTICS.
