Natalia Guayazan Palacios, a PhD Candidate from the Steinbrenner Lab, was awarded the prestigious USDA Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture to study how the plant immune system responds to agriculturally relevant bacteria and caterpillars. NIFA funding aims to provide investigators with greater stability and flexibility to advance agricultural research, education, and extension to solve societal challenges.
