Biography

I am interested in how plants enact local defense responses to defend against threats such as herbivores and pathogens. In particular, I am interested in how genomics can inform the discovery and functional characterization of peptide hormones and their receptors.

My interest in plant immunity began as an undergraduate in the lab of Fumi Katagiri at University of Minnesota. After receiving my Bachelor's in 2022, I moved to Seattle and worked as a Research Scientist in the lab of Bonny Brewer and M.K. Raghuraman at the UW Department of Genome Sciences studying replication timing in yeast. I joined UW Biology in 2024.

Outside of lab I enjoy participating in outreach activities with the department, riding my bike, running, and baking.
