Important Note on the Teaching Policy for Postdocs on Employment Visas

The PSTTC policy does not apply to postdocs on UW-sponsored employment visas whose visa does not permit additional duties or where teaching was not included as an activity in the visa application/documentation. If PIs would like to provide flexibility to international postdocs to teach, they should add into the job description the possibility of teaching. Additionally, teaching should be noted in the Hire Request Form. The request to teach will be added to the offer letter and visa application. Teaching would then be permitted, if all other conditions allow it.
