As an educator I have experience teaching anatomy, physiology, evolution, and histology. My anatomical expertise ranges from comparative to clinical. As a first-generation college student and McNair scholar whose career has been made possible by support from federal TRIO programs, I am driven to reform systemic barriers to equity in education. I have pioneered evidence-based undergraduate teaching practices at my current institution and believe that evidence-based teaching practices are the path to equity in higher education. I am active in UW's vision for shared governance and have served as a faculty senator and chair of the Faculty Council on Teaching and Learning. I am also part of a strategic planning group laying foundation for UW's "future of teaching". 

• As a teaching professor I use equitable Anatomy and Physiology curriculum to encourage a diversity of students to cultivate interest in health science majors and careers.
• Work with teams co-develop teaching and learning communities and outreach and implement plans to raise college and university awareness of issues in Anatomy and Physiology instruction in the context of evidence-based teaching practices.
• Recruit, train, and directly supervise graduate teaching associates and peer instructors to support undergraduate student outcomes.
• Regularly undertake development of course and exam materials in human physiology. Coordinate with external stakeholders to create and maintain a modern, inclusive STEM curriculum that meets professional program prerequisite requirements.
• Develop professional learning materials and provide coaching and evaluation to High School Anatomy and Physiology teachers though UW in the High School.
