Viking Sensitivity

Viking was not sure what to do with himself with Gwen in Montana. That is until his path crosses with Mia's. She is a beautiful sensitive who is being haunted by a strange being Viking has never heard of.

Mia Jones might not have an exciting life as the owner of an independent book store, but she is okay with that. Then she meets Viking and it is as if her life goes tumbling down a rabbit hole.

Mia and Viking must pull together to fight off the being that is haunting her. As Mia adjust to the Night World it appears this being might not be working along.

Lady of the Dead

A Lady of the Dead only comes along once in a century. Gwen knows this makes her valuable but she hates the constant supervision of her Warrior guards. Her increasing power has gifted her some independence until rumors of war spook her guards enough to report to the King.

Cesar has been King of North America through several wars and rebellions. When one of his generals informs him these new rumors involve the Lady of the Dead he flies to Seattle himself it investigate, posing as his second-in-command. The instant attraction he feels to Gwen becomes increasingly hard to ignore.

Berman's Wolves

When a scientist runs an experiment on three separate college campuses that goes horribly wrong, several hundred students find their lives altered forever. They must learn to adapt to their new lives as Werewolves. Immediately after the incident a government program was put in place to keep track of these unwitting subjects. After a year the program falls apart as those in charge argue on how to proceed.

Without the programmers constantly looking over their shoulders the werewolves have now started to organize themselves. Creating their own hierarchy and alliances.

Hollownton Homicide

Starting with a visit from a dead woman from his past. He must decide whether the paranormal truly exists or if these killing are some kind of delusional gang war.

Development and evolution of chordate cartilage.

Deuterostomes are a monophyletic group of animals containing vertebrates, lancelets, tunicates, hemichordates, echinoderms, and xenoturbellids. Four out of these six extant groups-vertebrates, lancelets, tunicates, and hemichordates-have pharyngeal gill slits. All groups of deuterostome animals that have pharyngeal gill slits also have a pharyngeal skeleton supporting the pharyngeal openings, except tunicates.

Vasa expression in a colonial ascidian, Botrylloides violaceus.

Evolution of solitary or colonial life histories in tunicates is accompanied by dramatic developmental changes that affect morphology and reproduction. We compared vasa expression in a solitary ascidian and a closely related colonial ascidian, in an effort to uncover developmental mechanisms important during the evolution of these contrasting life histories, including the ability to reproduce by budding.

A complement response may activate metamorphosis in the ascidian Boltenia villosa.

Ascidian metamorphosis transforms a free-swimming larval chordate ascidian into a sessile adult through a distinct series of metamorphic events. Initially, larvae must become competent to respond to settlement cues. Settlement is then marked by dramatic body plan remodeling and may be accompanied by attachment to the substrate. Subtractive hybridization has revealed that many innate immunity transcripts are upregulated during metamorphosis in the ascidian Boltenia villosa.

Analysis of large scale expression sequenced tags (ESTs) from the anural ascidian, Molgula tectiformis.

Anural ascidians show embryogenesis during which tail formation does not take place. This mode of development is a derived character acquired several times independently in ascidian evolution. We identified approximately 20,000 each ESTs (i. e. 10,000 clones each were sequenced from both 5' and 3' ends) of adult gonads, cleaving-embryos, gastrulae/neurulae, embryos before hatching, and hatched larvae of the anural ascidian Molgula tectiformis, in order to comprehensively investigate the molecular mechanism of tailless evolution.
